Driver Charged with Reckless Driving was Traveling Over 100 MPH

(Franklin County, Ind.) – A Connersville man has been charged with reckless driving after being observed traveling at a high rate of speed.

Deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department were on patrol early Monday morning on Fairfield Causeway Road when a deputy observed an eastbound vehicle traveling over 100 MPH.

The speed limit on Fairfield Causeway is 45 MPH.

The driver, Elisha D. Steele, was cited for Reckless Driving. Further investigation determined that Steele’s vehicle matched the description of a vehicle involved in several complaints. Witnesses on several occasions reported the vehicle traveling on Fairfield Causeway Road at a high rate of speed.

Steele could face jail time, fines, and suspension of driving privileges.
