(Dearborn County, Ind.) - You can support the Laughery Valley Fraternal Order of Police’s Cops and Kids.

The program allows local police officers to take needy children shopping for Christmas toys and clothing each December.

“Local law enforcement officers and other volunteers help families shop for clothes, winter coats, shoes and other necessities our community kids are in need of. They get to choose a toy for Christmas and visit with Santa at Walmart, too!” an announcement from the FOP says.

The FOP is welcoming donations now. You can make a contribution at any police department in Dearborn or Ohio counties or at any First Financial Bank branch. Checks or money orders may be mailed to FOP Cops and Kids, PO Box 3763, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025.

Last year, the Cops and Kids program helped over 300 kids locally. This year, the need is expected to be even greater.
