(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) — The Dearborn County Republican Party announces its upcoming caucus to select the party’s candidate for the position of County Commissioner, previously held by Rick Probst. This event underscores the vital role Precinct Committeemen play in shaping local leadership and advancing the party's values.
The caucus will take place on Thursday, January 23 at 6:00 p.m. in The Henry Dearborn Room of the Dearborn County Government Building. Only duly elected or appointed Republican Precinct Committeemen are eligible to participate in this crucial decision-making process.
"As Republican Precinct Committeemen, you hold a unique responsibility in determining the future leadership of Dearborn County,” said Mark Dole, Chair of the Dearborn County Republican Party. "The County Commissioner role is essential in managing local governance, and this caucus ensures we select a candidate who embodies our conservative principles and commitment to the community."
During the caucus, candidates for the County Commissioner position will present their vision and qualifications. Following their presentations, Precinct Committeemen will cast their votes to select the Republican nominee who will fulfill the remainder of the term, which runs through 2026.
Any qualified Republican living in District 3, which includes Manchester, Sparta, Hogan, Center, Washington, Clay and Caesar Creek Townships who wishes to be selected by a political party caucus to fill a vacancy in an elected office must file a declaration of candidacy with the Chairman. The declaration must be filed no later than seventy-two (72) hours before the caucus is scheduled to begin.
