(Boone County, Ky.) – Daytime lane closures begin today at the intersection of Mineola Pike and Donaldson Highway.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, crews will have a single lane open to traffic at the intersection during work hours. Crews will be working from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to complete a gas main relocation for two major road projects.
Flaggers will guide traffic safety through the work zone.
Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed on Wednesday, July 19.
The Mineola Pike improvement project began in August 2022. The project, from Donaldson Road to I-275, will widen the one-mile road to five lanes with a curb and gutter. A sidewalk will be constructed on the south side of the road, and a 10-foot-wide multi-use path will be created for bicyclists and pedestrians. The project is expected to be completed by October.
The KY 236 (Donaldson Highway) improvement project began March 2023. The project will widen the 2-mile stretch of road, between KY 842 (Houston Road) and Mineola Pike, to five lanes with curb and gutter, including two through-lanes in each direction with a center turn lane. A sidewalk and multi-use path also will be added. This project is expected to be completed by September 2025.
