(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Danny “Goober” Lansing has officially announced his candidacy for re-election to the Dearborn County Council, representing District 2, which includes the cities of Greendale and Lawrenceburg.
“For those in Greendale and Lawrenceburg who may not know me, I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself,” Lansing said. “It has been a true honor to serve as your District 2 representative on the Dearborn County Council, and I’m proud to be seeking re-election to continue that work.”
A lifelong resident of Greendale, Lansing has called the community home for 59 years. He and his wife, Dana, have been married for 30 years and are the proud parents of three children—Jordyn, Riley, and Cayla. He is also a proud “Pappy” to two granddaughters, with a grandson on the way.
Lansing is a longtime FedEx Express driver, who has also spent time coaching little league, Pee Wee football, and youth girls' softball.
A graduate of Lawrenceburg High School (Class of 1985) and Indiana University (Class of 1989), Lansing comes from a family deeply rooted in public service. His father, Bo Lansing, served Dearborn County for decades as Clerk-Treasurer and as a member of County Council for 40 years. His mother, Mary Lansing, supported local students as a teacher’s aide while raising seven children.
“The values my parents instilled in us—hard work, service, and commitment to community—are what continue to guide me today,” Lansing said.
As a member of the Dearborn County Council, Lansing helps oversee county government operations, including essential services and facilities such as the courthouse and county jail. He emphasized the importance of responsible budgeting, transparency, and ensuring taxpayer
dollars are used effectively.
“District 2 is unique in that it represents both Greendale and Lawrenceburg at the county level,” Lansing said. “I remain committed to serving our residents with dedication, transparency, and common-sense leadership I’m grateful for the support I’ve received over the years. I look forward to
earning your support once again as we continue working together for our community.”
