Community Mental Health Hosting Behavioral Health Careers Day

This summer program is designed for high school students as well as 2019 graduating seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in the behavioral health field.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Community Mental Health Center, Inc., Lawrenceburg, and the East Indiana Area Health Education Center (EI-AHEC), Batesville, are hosting their second annual Behavioral Health Careers Day on Friday, June 7, in Lawrenceburg.

This summer program is designed for high school students as well as 2019 graduating seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in the behavioral health field.

During this daylong program, participants will:

  • Visit and tour service treatment environments
  • Participate in a Question & Answer session with behavioral health professionals
  • Gain exposure to a wide variety of behavioral health career pathways
  • Take part in suicide prevention training
  • Learn about wellness and self-care
  • Experience a variety of hands-on activities

Deadline to register for the event is Friday, May 24. Interested students may register at the East Indiana Area Health Education Center’s website at www.eiahec.org. Look for information on Pipeline Programs/Summer Programs on the EI-AHEC website or find a link to information on EI-AHEC’s Facebook page. Program cost is $10, and program participation includes lunch.
