(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – No trial will be needed in the murder case of Faith Craig and Walter Bryant Jr.

On Thursday, Cody Booth pleded guilty to murdering his grandfather Walter Bryant Jr., and conspiring to kill his mother Faith Craig.

The murders happened at Craig and Bryant’s Douglas Drive home in Aurora on January 17, 2018.

Booth was set to stand trial on Monday, but Booth accepted a plea agreement to 120 years in prison. This comes after Booth’s attorneys asked for the trial to be moved to a different county and for a different judge to be assigned to the case. The trial date ended up getting a continuance until September 30.

“We were ready for the trial to begin on Monday, when this plea was reached,” stated Prosecuting Attorney Lynn Deddens. “After consulting with the families of the victims, they voiced their strong approval for the plea agreement. The families of Faith Craig and Walter Bryant Jr. wanted to make sure that Booth will not be getting out of prison. This plea agreement assures them that Cody Booth will die in prison for his heinous actions.”

The official pronouncement of Booth’s sentence will be held on October 17 at 1:00 p.m. in Dearborn Circuit Court.

Once Judge Humphries hits the gavel on the 17th, it will appear justice will be served.

The co-defendant Margie Thompson was sentenced for her role in the murders on March 26. She was sentenced to 95 years behind bars.
