Coast Guard Investigating After Coal Barge Hits Carroll Cropper Bridge

This happened early this morning.

Update published Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 9:28 a.m.:

The Kentucky Transportation District 6 has reported that there is no damage to the Carroll Cropper bridge. 

A Tennessee Valley Towing vessel was traveling northbound during the early morning hours when it struck the bridge, causing some of the barges to separate from the vessel. 

No injuries have been reported. 

The Coast Guard continues to investigate.

(Boone Co., Ind.) - A coal barge hit the Carroll Lee Cropper Bridge that connects Indiana to Kentucky on I-275. 

The Coast Guard is on the scene investigating the incident that happened early this morning. 

At this time, traffic is not being impacted.
