The program will provide up to $5,000 in matching funds.

(Batesville, Ind.) - The City of Batesville continues its revitalization efforts by offering matching funds for storefront renovations through the Building Improvement Grant (BIG).

This grant program can significantly reduce the financial burden of exterior renovations for local businesses, providing up to $5,000 in matching funds.

The BIG program is open to tenants and property owners for permanent exterior restoration and development. In order to be eligible, tenants must have at least two years remaining on their lease, or an option to renew. The Batesville Economic Development Commission (BEDC) must approve all renovations, and projects must abide by local ordinances.

Eligible projects include:

  • Awnings
  • Windows
  • Painting
  • Structural or design changes
  • Exterior finishes
  • Door repairs

Last year’s grant recipients include Concepts Framing, Assured Partners, Langen Meats, and the Ripley County VFW Post 3183. Their grants allowed them to replace windows, awnings, and general exterior fixtures.

You can download application instructions from the City's website at https://batesvilleindiana.us/in the Incentives drop-down tab under Economic Development or pick them up at the Memorial Building, 132 South Main Street, Batesville. They are due by March 31, 2026.
