(Boone County, Ky.) – A Cincinnati man has been identified as a person of interest in a vehicle break-in case in northern Kentucky.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office investigated three vehicle break-in reports taken on August 21, September 1, and September 7 from subdivisions throughout the Union area.

On September 2, detectives identified Ryan C. Boykin, 31, as a person of interest after they recovered a stolen tablet, as reported on September 1, from a business in Cincinnati.

Detectives say surveillance video provided by residents from Union matched the suspect vehicle to one that Boykin was known to operate.

Boykin was arrested in Hamilton County, Ohio on September 7 on unrelated charges. Since his arrest, detectives allegedly recovered a stolen iPod in a Cincinnati home that Boykin is affiliated with and confirmed Boykin’s use of a stolen credit card at a gas station in Boone County.

A warrant for Boykin’s arrest was issued on Tuesday.

He is facing one felony count of Theft by Unlawful Taking - Contents from Vehicle $1,000 - $10,000, four misdemeanor counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking – Contents from Vehicle and one misdemeanor count of Fraudulent Use of Credit Card.

Detectives continue to investigate five additional vehicle break-in reports from Union, which took place from late August to early September.

Anyone with information about the break-ins should contact the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at 859-334-2122.
