(Petersburg, Ky.) - Motorists will have to wait a little longer for repairs to be completed on the Interstate 275 Carroll Cropper Bridge.
In an update on Friday, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that they hope to have repairs completed sometime in late 2025. The original timeline called for repairs to be completed in the fall.
The KYTC's most recent update takes motorists under the bridge deck to see the working platform that has been constructed. That platform is expected to be completed today.
This platform will be used for crews to access the area where the floor beam repairs will be taking place.
Once the working platform is completed -- crews will install a shoring beam. Then they will move other necessary equipment in to start the floor beam repairs.
"Due to these repairs being tacked on to an original project contract, we’re working with the contractor on a revised completion date. We’re hoping to have these repairs completed late 2025," reads a statement from the KYTC.
