Benefit for Retired Dearborn Co. Deputy Set for September 21

David Funch is battling Burkitt's Lymphoma.

(Greendale, Ind.) - Community member are invited to support retired Dearborn County Sheriff's Deputy David Funch in his battle with Burkitt's Lymphoma.

Burkitt's lymphoma is a rare, aggressive type of B-Cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, characterized by rapid growth and potential for widespread dissemination. Typically, it is more common in children and young adults, and can affect various organs, including lymph nodes, abdomen, central nervous system, and bone marrow.

Funch recently had to give up a job he's been working as an express mail employee to go through treatment safely. His wife, a recent LPN graduate, is working overtime and trying to keep up with bills.

To help with the financial burden, a benefit will be held at the Greendale Cabin on September 21 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

The event will feature a raffle and a meal. Free will donations will also be accepted, whether it be cash or a gift card.
