(Batesville, IN) – Kindra Moore, an experienced elementary educator with expertise in instructional coaching and early interventions, has been selected as the next principal of Batesville Primary School. Pending school board confirmation, Moore will take over on July 1 for Brad Stoneking, who is transitioning to the Batesville High School principal position on the same date.

Moore currently serves the Batesville Community School Corporation in a specialized role as an educational consultant. Her experience supporting district-wide special education, English Language Learner initiatives, and high-ability programming positions her well to serve the diverse needs of BCSC’s youngest learners and their families.

Since joining BCSC in 2018, Moore has served in a variety of roles focused on intervention services, instructional practices, and student growth initiatives. She has also supported the corporation in policy compliance for several federal programs and serves on the district’s communications team.

The parent of two BCSC students, Moore is also involved in the community as a grant writer for the Batesville Music Boosters and has served several other nonprofit groups by assisting with their events, such as the Kiwanis’ Apple Fest and Every Sole Counts’ 4 on the 4th run.

Moore obtained her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Franklin College and earned her master’s degree in educational administration and Supervision from Ball State University. She holds a Building Level Administrator’s license, as well as professional licensure in Elementary Education, English Language Learner, Exceptional Needs Mild/Intense Intervention, and High Ability/Gifted Education. Before coming to Batesville, she was an elementary teacher for more than a decade at schools in the greater Indianapolis area.

“After conducting an extensive statewide search, Kindra Moore rose to the top because of both her experience and the genuine care she has for students, families, and staff,” said BCSC Superintendent Dr. Katy Eastes. “She has a strong background in early literacy and early childhood education, but what stood out most throughout the process was her heart for children and her understanding of what young learners need to succeed. She is the kind of leader who builds trusting relationships, supports her staff, and creates a positive environment where students and families feel valued and connected. I am excited for our Batesville Primary School community and confident Mrs. Moore will help our youngest students thrive.”

“I am honored to serve the Batesville Primary School community and look forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families,” said Moore. “My goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive school environment where every child feels safe, supported, connected, valued, and excited to learn.”
