Bands Battle At Lawrenceburg Fall Fest

It was a close vote, but Chantelle and the Digs were the best band in the competition.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Lawrenceburg Fall Fest got off to a rocking start Thursday.

The second annual Battle of the Banks band competition saw five area bands taking turns impressing the crowd with their musical abilities and stage presence.

In the end, Chantelle and the Digs was named the best band. The group is made up of Chantelle Luttrell, Joe Westfeld, Mike Kiely, and Bob Sullivan.

They received a $200 grand prize and bragging rights.

Second place and a $100 prize went to Lawrenceburg band Wade & Murphy, sponsored by First Financial Bank. They came in second after a first-place tie-breaker went to Chantelle and the Digs.

The third place prize of $50 was given to Flipside, sponsored by Civista Bank. Also competing were The Jimmy Thomas Experience, sponsored by Community Spirit Credit Union, and Two’s a Crowd, sponsored by The Friendship State Bank.

The judge panel was made up of Eagle Country 99.3’s Travis Thayer, Melissa Murphy and Jack Clevenger. The based their evaluations on each group’s music ability, song selection, and stage presence.

Eagle Country 99.3’s Mike Perleberg was privileged to serve as the emcee of the Battle of the Banks.

Lawrenceburg Fall Fest continues Friday with live evening performances by Dwight Yoakam and Walker Hayes on the big stage. Justin Moore and Walker Montgomery will be the featured entertainers on Saturday night. Find the full festival scheduled and information at www.lawrenceburgfallfest.net.
