A decision on Lawrenceburg's community pool is expected to be made Tuesday afternoon.

(Greendale, Ind.) - Two community pools will not open this summer and a decision on a third area pool is coming Tuesday afternoon.
Under Governor Eric Holcomb's five-stage "Back on Track" plan, public pools in Indiana would be able to open as early as May 24 with restrictions and social distancing.
Some cities and town will be comfortable with opening like in Rising Sun, while others will choose to remain closed.
On Monday evening, the City of Greendale Parks Board voted unanimously to keep the city pool closed for the 2020 season due to health concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
A decision on whether to reopen city parks is expected to be made in the coming weeks.
Aurora's city pool will also remain closed for the 2020 season after City council accepted the unanimous recommendation from the Parks Board.
"Unfortunately given our current circumstances it is not feasible for the City to adhere to the Indiana State Department of Health’s COVID-19 Response Recommendations for Pools and Aquatic Facilities (released May 5, 2020)," said Derek Walker, city manager. "Given the City’s difficulty in adhering to the State’s recommendations, we did not see a need to risk the health of the public."
Walker added that the City of Aurora felt this is a great opportunity to look into making much needed upgrades to the city pool.
As for Lawrenceburg's community pool, a decision is expected to be made by council on Tuesday afternoon.
