(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Amanda Thompson has filed to run as a Democrat on the Primary Ballot for Dearborn County Council District 3.

Thompson has an MBA in healthcare, a background in criminal justice and experience across federal, state and local government.

She supports fair contracts, transparent bidding, and responsible oversight of government spending. Thompson also believes Dearborn County must strengthen zoning protections to preserve rural communities, and she supports more rigorous zoning standards and greater accountability, so development decisions reflect community priorities, and not just corporate interests.

Other focuses of her campaign include supporting better-paying local jobs, and growth through skilled trades, manufacturing, healthcare, education, social services, hospitality, small businesses and technology, without sacrificing the county's small-town character.

“I’m running because I care deeply about this community and the people who call it home,” Thompson said. “Dearborn County deserves leadership that listens, protects what makes us unique, and makes decisions with integrity and common sense.”
