(Hamilton County, Oh.) – The intoxicated driver who hit and killed a popular Hollywood Casino cast member has received prison time. Brandon Bernhardt, 21, pleaded guilty in Hamilton County court last month to Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and OVI. He was back in court Tuesday as Judge Ethna Cooper sentenced the 21-year-old to eight years in prison. The family of December Lamb was in the courtroom yesterday to address Bernhardt as he was sentenced. Bernhardt, of Sunman, was intoxicated when his pickup truck hit from behind a motorcycle ridden by December James Lamb last October. Lamb was killed, his motorcycle was drug for about a mile, and Bernhardt tried to run off after the wreck on Interstate 74 near the Miamitown exit. A police K9 helped track down Bernhardt and officers found numerous empty cans of beer in his pickup. At the time of the crash, December Lamb was on his way home from working at Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg. He was a popular entertainer and impersonator at Boogie Nights dance club.
