(Nashville, TN)  --  Martina McBride and her husband John McBride are being sued by a former employee.

The lawsuit was filed by Richard Hanson, who is asking for $1 million in addition to back pay, benefits, front pay and other damages.

The couple is accused of using unpaid interns to run an array of personal errands, including cleaning bathrooms.

In a statement, Martina claims a labor complaint filed with the state was unfounded.
