(West Harrison, Ind.) - Kyle Terwilleger will be competing at the LWS Open at Idlewild Disc Golf Course this weekend.
Terwilleger, a West Harrison resident, qualified for the Disc Golf Pro Tour event by winning the LWS Amateur at Idlewild last May.
Not only did he win the amateur event, Terwilleger largely dominated the field. With 41 players vying for the qualifying spots, Terwilleger was tied for first place after round one. By the end of round two, he had built and eight stroke lead. Terwilleger would go on to win by six strokes, which was the largest margin of victory in the last 10 years.
He has been competing in Professional Disc Golf America events since 2023. Terwilleger, an engineering student at the University of Cincinnati, is also a member of the UC Discats, which ended their last season as the #1 ranked team in the nation.
At this weekend's pro tour event, Terwilleger is one of 100 participants in the male field, and the only amateur.
Idlewild Disc Golf Course is the #1 ranked course in Kentucky per UDisc, and is ranked #24 in the world. It is known to be one of the most difficult and challenging courses in America, and one of the hardest pro tour course stops.
