Switz. Co. Wins Girls Golf Conference Championship, ORVC Weekly Report Released

(Versailles, Ind.) - Six student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference.

The ORVC Report for September 3-7 was released on Wednesday.

South Ripley’s Macy Stone was named the ORVC Volleyball Player of the Week. The Lady Raiders star recorded 11 kills on 38 attempts, 22 digs, and three aces in two matches. Stone also tallied her 1,000th career assist last week.

The ORVC Runners of the Week are Gabe Riehle (Milan) and Savannah Nussbaum (Southwestern). Riehle crossed the finish line in 16:47 at the Ripley County Meet and 16:40 at East Central. Nussbaum earned weekly honors with a time of 19:50 at Columbus North.

Switzerland County captured the ORVC Championship at the conference meet on September 7 with a low score of 401. Milan placed second, followed by Southwestern, Jac-Cen-Del and South Ripley.

Southwestern’s Lily Fox and Switzerland County’s Makayla Bowling are the Girls Golfers of the Week, tying with a low score of 98 at the conference meet.

The ORVC Boys Soccer Players of the Week are Gus Grote (Shawe Memorial) and Henry Knauer (Southwestern).

Shawe Memorial’s Justice Kuntz is the ORVC Girls Soccer Player of the Week.
