Switz. Co. Boys, Southwestern Girls Claim ORVC Cross Country Titles

(Hanover, Ind.) - The Ohio River Valley Conference held their Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Southwestern (Hanover) High School. 

Switzerland County's boys were crowned champions with their top five runners all placing in the top 17.

Luke Sullivan led the way with a 5th place finish. Cale Collier was 8th, Gavin Rich 9th, Landon Gross 10th and Michael Gross 17th. 

Milan came in second place behind strong performances from Gabe Riehle and Lucas Cooney. The dynamic due finished first and second overall. 

Rising Sun was led by Owen Markland, who placed 11th. Trey Perry and Max Mossburger finished in the top 20. South Ripley got strong performances from Carter Yelton (6th), Dominic Carter (12th), and Saxton Hite (13th). 

Southwestern's girls won the ORVC title behind individual champion Savannah Nussbuam. 

Switzerland County placed second. They were led by Claire Boggs (3rd), Taylor Kappes (5th), Kaylynn Schaefer (6th), and Jazmyn Blevins (10th). 

Rising Sun was third at the conference meet. Their top performers were Sydnie Lawwill in 12th place, Kynnadi Hartley in 13th, Maggie Mossburger in 16th, and Carrigan Friend in 18th. 

Milan's top performers were Hannah Cooney in 7th place, Elly Potts in 17th and Kami Laws in 20th.
