(Versailles, Ind.) - Cody Samples has more points than any other basketball player that has suited up for the South Ripley Raiders, but he'll be starting from scratch at the collegiate level.
The South Ripley star announced Tuesday via Twitter that he has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Franklin College.

Franklin College will be getting a player that can definitely score the basketball, but Samples isn't just a scorer. He is a playmaker and a solid defensive player too.
As a senior, he averaged 21.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 2.1 steals per game.
Samples would become his school's all-time leading scorer on February 12 against South Dearborn. He passed Steve Allen with a three-point basket in the early moments of the game, breaking a record that stood for 43 years.
At Franklin, Samples will join a team that ended their season with a 9-6 record, winning three straight road games to capture their first HCAC tournament championship since 2008 with a 73-54 win over Transylvania in the finals.
Samples will have the opportunity to play with former South Decatur star Dominic Walters.
