South Dearborn Grad Coaches Team USA Swimming at World Championship

(Aurora, Ind.) – South Dearborn High School graduate Katie Robinson helped coach Team USA Swimming to an impressive overall performance at the 2024 World Aquatics Championship in Budapest, Hungary.

Robinson, the current associate head coach for Stanford University Women’s Swimming and Diving, served as an assistant coach at the international competition.

She was seen in an Instagram post over the weekend celebrating the 4x200m Freestyle Team setting a world record with a time of 7:30.13.  

In total, USA Swimming closed the World Championships with 21 world records, 28 American records, two world junior records, and 39 total medals.

Robinson, a 2003 South Dearborn graduate, won six individual state championships. She also set a state record in the 100-yard butterfly during her sophomore, junior and senior years.

She went on to be a standout collegiate performer at Texas, where she finished as an 11-time All-American and three-time Big 12 champion in the 200-yard butterfly.
