(Greensburg, Ind.) –  It was a game that will be remembered for a long time in Aurora.

On Friday night, the South Dearborn Knights defeated Greensburg 74-0.

The Knights broke the previous school record for points in a game (62), scoring a new school record 11 touchdowns in the rout of the Pirates. The previous school record for touchdowns in a game was nine, set in 1996 and 2022.

Junior running back Carson Cheek did a bulk of the damage against the Pirates, breaking the rushing point record of 30 points by scoring 42 points on a school record seven touchdown runs.

Cheek finished the game with 204 yards on 21 carries.

Junior TE Ryan Richard also had a record night by going 8-for-11 on extra point attempts. The eight makes tied the record set by current Knights kicker Taytum Barker and former Knight Zach Dick (2018).

While record breaking performances were the highlight of the night, the South Dearborn defense dominated by allowing only 38 total yards to the Pirates on 36 plays.

South Dearborn’s next game is Friday at East Central. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eagle Country 99.3 will have full coverage started at 7:10.
