South Dearborn Archers to Compete at Eastern Nationals This Week

The event takes place in Louisville, KY.

(Aurora, Ind.) - South Dearborn Community School Corporation will have three teams competing at the upcoming 2026 Eastern National Bullseye Tournament. 

Elementary school students from Aurora, Dillsboro and Manchester will join South Dearborn Middle School and South Dearborn High School students in representing the district in Louisville on May 7. 

Teams from South Dearborn will be joined at Nationals by other area schools including: 

  • Batesville High School, Batesville Middle School, Batesville Intermediate School
  • Madison High School, Madison Junior High School
  • Jennings County High School, Jennings County Middle School
  • North Decatur Elementary 

Each team qualified for Nationals after competing at the State competition in Indianapolis on March 21 and meeting the minimum required scores. (Elementary minimum score of 2,500, middle 3,000, and high 3,100). Roughly 2,100 students participated from around the state.

South Dearborn's Elementary Team is coached by Jennifer Wullenweber, Dalton Messer and Steve Wullenweber. They have 17 national qualifiers, and ranked 20th out of 24 teams at state. 

Hazel Justice, Jamie Wullenweber, and Liam Bird were their top archers at state. 

The Middle School Team is coached by Kenny Carpenter, Matt Criswell and Matt Gilbert. They have 19 national qualifiers and ranked 24th out of 33 teams at state. 

Their top archers at state were Sawyer Good (7th of 1,027 middle school females) and Braven Combs (13th of 1,248 middle school males). 

The High School Team is coached by Matt Criswell, Kenny Carpenter and Red Vernon. They have 16 national qualifiers and ranked 28th out of 31 teams at state. 

Dalton Land (75th of 832 high school males) and Danica Neff (23rd of 929 high school females) were their top archers at state.
