Seven Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

Seven student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference.

The ORVC Report for December 11-16 was released on Tuesday.

Switzerland County’s Courtney Higgins and Jac-Cen-Del’s Sophia Sullivan were named the ORVC Girls Basketball Players of the Week.

Higgins posted 32 points, 7 assists and 6 deflections over two games, while Sullivan totaled 25 points, 8 steals, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists in two games.  

The ORVC Boys Basketball Player of the Week is Blaine Ward. The South Ripley star put up 30 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in a win over South Decatur.

Four swimmers were recognized as ORVC Performers of the Week.

Rising Sun’s Max Mossburger earned weekly honors by breaking a school record for the 500 Yard Free (5:16.65). Shawe Memorial swimmer Matthew Vaughn also broke a school record for the 100 Yard Free (51.96).

Southwestern’s Natalee and Raygan Crawford were the Girls Swimming Performers of the Week.
