INDIANAPOLIS - Three high school baseball stars from southeastern Indiana have earned All-State honors.
The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association recently announced their 2023 All-State Teams for all four classes.
In Class 4A, East Central senior catcher and third baseman Sam Bond earned Honorable Mention. Bond, a Thomas More University commit, hit .487 with 13 home runs and 39 RBI. He also reached base 57 percent of the time and had a slugging percentage of 1.013.
Batesville senior Charlie Schebler was named Class 3A All-State Honorable Mention. Schebler led the Bulldogs in hitting with a .448 average. He homered twice while knocking in 25 runs and scoring 24 times himself. Schebler also starred on the mound with a 5-1 record and 2.43 ERA.
Another two-way star, Peyton Merica, earned Honorable Mention in Class 1A. On the mound, Merica went 8-3 with a 1.33 ERA. He also hit .408 with a home run, 12 RBI, 33 runs scored, and 24 stolen bases.
