INDIANAPOLIS – Three high school baseball stars from southeastern Indiana have earned All-State honors.
Prep Baseball Report Indiana released their 2023 All-State Teams on Wednesday.
East Central catcher Sam Bond and pitcher Max Hotze were selected to the PBR 4A All-State Team.
Bond, the EIAC MVP, had a huge year. He hit .487 with 13 home runs and 39 RBI. Bond reached base 57 percent of the time and had a slugging percentage of 1.013.
Hotze was one of East Central’s top pitchers, going 7-0 with a 0.99 ERA.
Rising Sun pitcher Peyton Merica was selected to the PBR 1A All-State Team. Merica went 8-3 with a 1.33 ERA. He struck out 81 batters in 79 innings pitched.
