Rising Sun, Switz. Co. Stars Share ORVC Weekly Honors

The 2023-24 winter sports season is underway.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) – Four Ohio River Valley Conference student-athletes have earned the first weekly honors of the 2023-24 winter sports season.

The ORVC Report for October 30-November 11 was released on Tuesday.

Rising Sun’s Alyssa Simpson and Switzerland County’s Halle Archer are the ORVC Girls Basketball Players of the Week. Simpson totaled 38 points and 33 rebounds in two games, while Archer tallied 40 points, 18 rebounds, 15 steals and seven assists in three games.

The ORVC Girls Swimming Performers of the Week are Rising Sun’s Olivia Graver and Switzerland County’s Kaelin Taylor. Graver had times of 1:00.74 and 2:25.31 in the 100 Yard Free and 200 Yard Individual Medley. Taylor completed the 200 Yard Free and 100 Yard Breast in 2:32.88 and 1:33.54, respectively.
