Four SIRC races down, two to go.
(Brookville, Ind.) - The fourth of six Southeastern Indiana Racing Circuit events took place on Saturday in Brookville.
Ayden Potts, 19, of Milan, was the winner of the Lakeside 5K with a time of 18:07. Potts finished three seconds ahead of Bryan Wagner, 41, of Lawrenceburg, and 17 seconds ahead of Bradyn Hatton, 18, of Lawrenceburg.
Hatton continues to lead the overall male leaderboard through four races with an average time of 18:04. Wagner is within striking distance with an average time of 18:09. Tegan Burk, 16, of Aurora is currently third with an average time of 18:24.
Alisha Detmer, who leads the overall standings in the female division, was the top female performer. The 21-year-old Patriot native finished fifth overall with a time of 19:06.
Lanie Nicholson, 21, of Versailles, was second among females and eighth overall with a time of 19:42. Current East Central High School cross country and track star Callie Bentley placed third among females with a time of 20:42. Bentley was 12th overall.
Detmer has opened up a sizable overall lead through four races with an average time of 18:58. Nicholson trails in second (19:27), while Hannah Morgan, of Lawrenceburg, is third (21:21)
The next SIRC race is the Indian Trails 5K in Milan. It will be held this Saturday, August 2 at 8:30 a.m.
