Milan, South Ripley Track Stars Set Records, Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Six student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference. 

The ORVC Report for May 1-6 was released on Tuesday.

Southwestern’s William Stockdale was named the ORVC Baseball Player of the Week. Stockdale went 10-13 with 11 runs batted in in five games.

The ORVC Softball Player of the Week is Ryan Works. The Lady Shiners star knocked in six runs on five hits, including two doubles, a triple, and a home run in three games.

In boys golf, Jac-Cen-Del’s Sam Schwering is the Golfer of the Week. He carded a 37 at Rising Star and a 43 at North Branch.

The ORVC Track & Field Performers of the Week are Ben Riehle (Milan), Austin Green (Milan), and Emily Flood (South Ripley). Green set a meet record in the high jump at 6'2". Flood was a meet record setter as well, running the high hurdles in:15.23.
