Milan, Rising Sun Swimmers Break Records, Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

Seven student-athletes were recognized with weekly honors.

(Versailles, Ind.) - Seven student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference.

The ORVC Report for January 1-6 was released on Tuesday.

South Ripley’s Cole Henry was named the ORVC Boys Basketball Player of the Week. Henry posted 40 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 blocks in two games at the Ripley County Tournament.

The ORVC Girls Basketball Players of the Week are South Ripley’s Reese Obendorf and Southwestern’s Ashley Fulton. Obendorf helped lead the Lady Raiders to a Ripley County Tournament championship with 31 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 6 steals over two games. Fulton earned weekly honors by scoring her 1,000th career point against Austin.

In the swimming pool, Milan star Dylan Thomas and Rising Sun star Max Mossburger were named the Boys Performers of the Week. Thomas broke the Milan school record for the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 54.04, while Mossburger broke the Rising Sun school record for the 100 Yard Fly with a time of 58.28.

Rising Sun’s Olivia Graver and Switzerland County’s Ava Cole were named the Girls Swim Performers of the Week. Graver was a winner in the 200 Yard Free and 100 Yard Breaststroke. Cole earned wins the 50 Yard Free and 100 Yard Backstroke.
