TRACK & FIELD

IHSAA Regional 6 at Lawrence Central

East Central placed 7th out of 30 teams with a score of 35. By comparison, first place North Central scored 90.5. 

Notable State Qualifiers

  • Long Jump - Rylee Edwards (EC): 3rd place, 17-2.75
  • 800 Meter - Callie Bentley (EC): 2nd place, 2:15.40
  • Discus - Rachel Suttman (OA), 1st place, 117.7
  • Shot Put - Ella King (BV), 1st place, 41-5

 

IHSAA Regional 7 at Bloomington North

Switzerland County freshman Madison Spillman qualified for the State Finals by winning the 100 Meter Dash with a time of 12.59. Lawrenceburg's Ava Merkel placed Merkel 3rd with a time of 12.79, also qualifying for State. 

 

SOFTBALL

Class 4A Sectional 14 at East Central - First Round

Whiteland 2, East Central 0 

 

Class 3A Sectional 29 at Batesville - Semifinals

Franklin County 16, South Dearborn 1 

Jennings County 4, Greensburg 3 

*Franklin County will play Jennings County in the Sectional 29 Championship on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

 

Class 2A Sectional 45 at Brown County 

Brownstown Central 6, Brown County 1

  • Brownstown Central advances to play South Ripley in the semifinals on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Switzerland County 14, Southwestern (Hanover) 4

  • Switzerland County advances to play Austin in the semifinals on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

 

Class 1A Sectional 60 at Rising Sun - Semifinals

Hauser 14, Crothersville 1 

Milan 3, Rising Sun 1 

*Milan will play Hauser for the Sectional 60 Championship on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
