Local Basketball Stars Earn HBCA All-District Honors

For the 2024-25 Girls Basketball season.

(Southern Indiana) - Several local high school basketball stars have been recognized for their tremendous play this season. 

The Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association recently named their 2024-25 Girls All-District Teams. 

In District 3, the following players earned recognition:

  • Sophie Gesell, Batesville (10.4 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 2.2 APG, 1.8 SPG)
  • Hadassah Hurt, Columbus North
  • Madesyn Sunderhaus, Franklin County (10.6 PPG, 2.2 RPG, 1.5 APG, 3.0 SPG)
  • Leah West, Greensburg (15.8 PPG, 5.5 RPG)
  • Mylie Wilkison, Greensburg (16.0 PPG)
  • Ayla Lollar, Indian Creek
  • Madelyn McIntosh, Jennings County
  • Madi Allen, North Decatur
  • Makayla Somers, South Decatur
  • Lexi Franklin, South Ripley (7.8 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 2.0 APG, 1.6 SPG)

The duo of Leah West and Mylie Wilkison have helped the Greensburg Pirates to an undefeated season and a spot in Saturday's Class 3A State Championship Game against Norwell. 

Both West and Wilkison are averaging around 16.0 points per game this season. 

The 2024-25 HBCA Underclass All-District 3 Team includes:

  • Madelyn Haskamp, Batesville (9.9 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 1.1 APG, 1.9 SPG)
  • Natalie Stenger, East Central (12.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 2.1 APG, 3.2 SPG)
  • Ruby Singer, Franklin County (14.7 PPG, 9.1 RPG)
  • Claire Larrison, Greensburg (16.2 PPG, 8.0 RPG, 3.7 APG)

These players have been voted upon by members of the HBCA.
