(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Three Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference volleyball stars have earned national recognition.

The AVCA released their 2023 Phenom Watch List on Monday. The list includes over 2,800 student-athletes from all 50 states.

Lawrenceburg juniors Natalie Knigga and Trinity Taylor appear on the list, along with East Central sophomore Liz Hudnall. See the full Phenom List here

In order to be featured on the list:

  • the student-athlete must have a 2025, 2026, or 2027 grad year and must have been recognized in some form for her outstanding volleyball abilities (All-Region, All-State, PVB Watchlist, USAV NTDP team, etc.) AND
  • the student-athlete’s high school head coach, club coach, or club director must be an active AVCA member

For Knigga and Taylor, both have earned EIAC All-Conference honors each of their first two seasons as varsity players. This season, Knigga and Taylor are off to a great start, leading the Tigers to an 8-0 record.

Knigga leads the Tigers with 99 kills. She also has 69 digs, 12 aces, and 110 assists. Taylor has been equally impressive, totaling 75 kills, 11 aces, and 83 digs.

East Central’s Hudnall has accumulated 106 kills, 14 blocks, and 44 digs in 36 sets played.

Uncommitted athletes on the AVCA Phenom Watch List are invited by the AVCA to participate in the Phenom College Preparatory Program, which is the only volleyball showcase that consistently has more than 200 college coaches in attendance. This year, the program takes place December 14-17 in Tampa, Florida.

Since the start of the Phenom College Prep Program, 80 percent of participating athletes end up on college rosters.
