The Ray Furney Classic will be played Jan. 2-3 at LHS and GMS.
(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Lawrenceburg High School Athletic Department and Tiger Basketball are seeking sponsors for the annual Ray Furney Classic.
This year's event is scheduled for Friday, January 2 and Saturday, January 3 at Lawrenceburg High School and Greendale Middle School.
The field will feature 12 teams: Lawrenceburg, Indianapolis Shortridge, Silver Creek, New Palestine, Indianapolis Ritter, Centerville, Plainfield, Guerin Catholic, Fort Wayne Blackhawk, Harrison (West Lafayette), Castle, and Bloomington South.
"We're committed to making this a top holiday tournament in Indiana," reads a statement from Tiger Basketball.
Over the two-day span, the 12 teams will play a total of 24 games.

Ray Furney passed away in October of 2017 at the age of 74. He spent 36 years with Lawrenceburg Community Schools, where he served as a teacher, coach, and athletic trainer. Known by many as “Furn”, he was inducted into LHS’ second-ever Athletic Hall of Fame class in 2020.
The first Ray Furney Classic was played in 2023.
