(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Fireworks were not the only thing making noise on the Fourth of July.

Late Models and the KOI Auto Parts UMP Modifieds took to the track at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Independence Day.

Josh Rice, of Verona, Kentucky, won the non-sanctioned late model race in support of the Merrill Downey Memorial Modified Race. It’s the second-straight year Rice has taken the checkered flag.

James Rice, Derek Fisher, Austyn Mills and Dustin Nobbe rounded out the Top 5.

In the 44-lap Merrill Downey Memorial modified feature, North Carolina native David Stremme took first place over Ron Davies, Peyton Harlow, Ricky Arms and Kyle Schomick.
