(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Lawrenceburg Tigers are heading to the Indiana Esports Network State Finals for the fourth time in program history.
The varsity League of Legends team of Andrew Haupert, Dylan Lannan, Evan Woulms, Noah Bailey, and Oliver Maddux will battle Westfield for the state title.
LHS joins over 50 middle and high schools from across Indiana descending upon Riverview Health at Innovation Mile in Noblesville to compete for 28 distinct state championships this Saturday, April 25.
Coach Konnor Powell stated, “Our team was the most unchanged this year, no new kids, all returners. While other teams had to get new kids up to speed, we were able to pick up from last year, giving us a partial head start. I also believe a lot of the success comes from them watching colleges and knowing how good they can be.”
Lawrenceburg's League of Legends team will be supported fellow competitors from our Super Smash Bros., Marvel Rivals, Mario Kart, and iRacing teams, along with Directors Carrie Stegemiller and Katelyn Davidson and Coach Tyler Dishneau.
Lawrenceburg's Pablo Nunez will also be recognized as the fourth place iRacing finisher in the state.
The state championship is an opportunity for student athletes to perform in front of college recruiters.
