Proceeds from the girls basketball game will support two area families facing tough battles.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - The girls high school basketball season is right around the corner, and two rival schools are set to play a game for a good cause.
Rising Sun will host Switzerland County for the annual Game for Good, formerly the Cancer Game, on Friday, November 21. The varsity contest tips off at 7:30 p.m.
All proceeds from the game will support two families in the community who are facing tough battles:
- Jesse Cordle – Former instructional assistant at OCEMS, recently diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, an aggressive blood and bone marrow cancer. Jesse has begun chemotherapy and continues to fight courageously.
- Chad Higgins – Switzerland County native and former Ohio County business owner, diagnosed in August 2025 with colon cancer.
At the game, attendees can support the cause through free-will donations, In Memory Of and In Celebration Of cards, Shoot for the Stars fundraiser, food from Holy Smokin' Pork & More, and t-shirts pressed on demand by Quick Sports.
Shirts can be ordered ahead of time at https://rsvsswitzco25.itemorder.com/shop/home/
