Field Dedication Ceremony Set for Wednesday at South Ripley High School

A baseball and softball doubleheader will follow the ceremony.

(Versailles, Ind.) - The Cincinnati Reds, Reds Community Fund, St. Elizabeth Healthcare and South Ripley Community Schools will gather on Wednesday for a dedication ceremony. 

The event will take place from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at South Ripley High School's upgraded Forest G. Waters Field at St. Elizabeth Ball Park. 

The field serves as the home to the South Ripley High School baseball and softball teams. 

Recent renovations and improvements to the field include a new synthetic infield, portable mound, adjustable base configurations for baseball and softball, and a portable outfield fence for softball. Other facility improvements include a brick donor plaza, signage and PA/audio system.

Scheduled speakers include:

  • Garren Colvin, President & CEO, St. Elizabeth Healthcare
  • Rob Moorhead, Superintendent, South Ripley Community Schools
  • Derik Hutton, Principal, South Ripley High School
  • Bob Meyer, President, Tyson Fund 

Following the ceremony, the South Ripley’s baseball and softball teams will play a doubleheader vs. Rising Sun High School.

South Ripley is the fourth field project for the Reds and St. Elizabeth in Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana. Others receiving upgrades include St. Elizabeth Healthcare Field at the Bellevue Vets (Bellevue, KY), Lemker Field at St. Elizabeth Park (Dayton, KY), Augusta Distillery Field at St. Elizabeth Ball Park (Augusta, KY)
