Eight Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

There were some big performances between January 15-20.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Eight student-athletes from five different schools have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference. 

The ORVC Report for January 15-20 was released on Wednesday. 

Rising Sun's Alyssa Simpson and Shawe Memorial's Allison Knoebel were named the ORVC Girls Basketball Players of the Week. Simpson totaled 43 points and 32 rebounds while shooting 17-20 from the free throw line over three games. The Lady Shiners star continues to lead the conference in points (16.6) and rebounds (11.2). 

Knoebel tallied 39 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists, and 6 steals in two games. 

The ORVC Boys Basketball Players of the Week are Blaine Ward and Peyton Cloud. Ward led his South Ripley Raiders to a win over Milan with 28 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds. Cloud starred for Southwestern with a 25 point performance against South Central. 

Four swimmers earned weekly honors. They are Matthew Vaughn (Shawe), Dylan Thomas (Milan), Natalee Crawford (Southwestern) and Olivia Graver (Rising Sun).
