EC, L'Burg, Batesville Soccer Stars Help Make Up ISCA All-District Teams

Nine players from Eagle Country were recognized this week.

INDIANAPOLIS - Eight high school soccer stars from southeastern Indiana have been named among the best players in the state. 

The Indiana Soccer Coaches Association has released their 2021 Boys and Girls All-District Teams. 

East Central junior JT Roden and Lawrenceburg senior Asher Gentry were named to the ISCA District 3 First Team.

Roden was a goal-scoring machine, finding the back of the net 28 times. He also assisted on 14 goals, helping lead the Trojans (15-5) to an EIAC champmionship and sectional championship. 

Gentry was a double-digit scorer for a Tigers team that consistently found themselves in the Class 2A Top 20 rankings for a majority of the season. 

East Central's Joey Black was an ISCA District 3 Second Team selection, along with Batesville's top goal scorer, Eli Pearson. 

Four girls from southeastern Indiana were also honored. East Central senior defender Sophie Browndyke and Lawrenceburg senior forward Chloe Meyer were named to the ISCA District 3 First Team. 

Browndyke anchored the Lady Trojans defense that only surrendered six goals all season. Browndyke also scored seven times and assisted on five more goals. East Central would end the season 16-3-1, capturing both an EIAC championship and a sectional championship. 

Meyer helped lead the Lady Tigers to a 13-4 record with nine goals and nine assists. 

East Central junior forward Erika Wells and Batesville sophomore forward Elena Kuisel were named to the ISCA District 3 Second Team. 

East Central's Julia Tiemann was also recognized with the ISCA Girls Top Team Player Award.
