Batesville's Grunkemeyer, Lawrenceburg's McLane Named South All-Stars

The EIAC rivals will team up in June at the IHSBCA North-South Series.

INDIANAPOLIS – Two Eastern Athletic Indiana Conference baseball stars have been selected to play in the annual IHSBCA North/Soth All-Star Game.

Batesville pitcher Jack Grunkemeyer and Lawrenceburg outfielder Nolan McLane have been named to the South Team for the upcoming event.

The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association will host the All-Star Weekend June 21-23 at Huntington University.

The first of two All-Star games will be played on Saturday, June 22 at noon. A wood bat game will follow on Sunday, June 23 at noon. Not only will players use wood bats, but they will also wear their high school uniforms one more time.

Grunkemeyer is the 10th Bulldog to be selected for the North-South All-Star Game, joining Ted Weigel, Mike Galle, Alan Meyer, Stephen Meyer, Joe Hartman, Bryan Hoeing, Zach Britton, Lane Oesterling, and Charlie Schebler on the list.

This season, Grunkemeyer went 6-1 with a 0.36 ERA in 39 innings pitched.

McLane is just the fifth Lawrenceburg Tiger to be selected as a South All-Star. He batted .479 with 45 hits and 24 stolen bases this season.
