(Aurora, Ind.) – Seven area Little League teams competed, but it was the home team that raised championship trophies over the weekend in Aurora.
Teams from Aurora, Lawrenceburg, Milan, Harrison, Ripley County, Rising Sun and Manchester competed at the annual Steven “Louie” Dowers 10U Little League Tournament in Aurora on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Aurora team defended its home territory in grand fashion, defeated Rising Sun 21-1, Manchester 23-2, and Lawrenceburg 4-3 to advance to the championship round.
In the championship game Aurora defeated Milan 5-4 in extra innings on a Jackson Johnson walk-off single that scored Elliot Meek.
Aurora pitchers Alex Probst and Mason Hamlett did a good job of holding down the Milan offense to secure the championship.
