Dennis spent six seasons as the boys’ varsity basketball coach at Switzerland County from 2014 to 2020. In that time, the Pacers went 53-91.
He would resign as the Pacers head coach in April of 2020, stating “it was time for a new voice for the Pacers.”
Despite his resignation, Dennis stated at the time that he hoped to return to the sideline someday. He did just that, by becoming an assistant coach at Madison in 2021.
Dennis will replace Sonja Bowyer, who resigned earlier this month after a successful four-year stint as head coach. The Lady Cubs went 49-44 under Bowyer, including a 12-9 record during the 2021-22 season.
Bowyer will continue to teach math at Madison HS.
