(Holton, Ind.) – After a man was arrested for allegedly dealing methamphetamine and marijuana from his Holton home, police came back to arrest a woman who broke into his house with more drugs. Kenneth J. Cardinal was charged on December 8 with 11 counts including Dealing in Methamphetamine (level 2 felony), Possession of Methamphetamine (level 4 felony), Dealing in a Controlled Substance (level 5 felony), Possession of a Hypodermic Needle (level 6 felony), Dealing in Marijuana over 30 grams (level 6 felony), and more. Anna Marie Bischoff is charged with Dealing in Methamphetamine (level 2 felony), Possession of Methamphetamine (level 3 felony), Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe (level 6 felony), and Possession of Paraphernalia (class C misdemeanor). According to a court affidavit, Indiana State Police troopers and Versailles Police went to Cardinal’s residence on the 4700 block of New Marion East Street on Wednesday, December 6 as part of what police called a “knock and talk” investigation. Cardinal answered the door. During questioning about drug use at his home, Cardinal admitted he smokes marijuana and that there was some inside his home. After Cardinal retrieved a small amount for them, police obtained a search warrant for the residence. Once inside the home, officers located methamphetamine, marijuana, syringes, and mushrooms. Among the drugs, police also confiscated multiple digital scales, three shotguns and rifles, and three fully loaded revolvers. Three women were in Cardinal’s home at the time: Candice R. Stone, Tiffany M. Caudle, and Andrea M. James. Stone allegedly told officers she purchased meth from him multiple times and shot up and smoked the drug in the home. James allegedly attempted to hide two small plastic baggies on her person as she was about to be transported to jail. The day after the police raid of Cardinal’s home as he sat in a jail cell, a neighbor informed police that there were two females back at the residence arriving in two different vehicles, according to a separate court affidavit. Versailles Marshal Joe Mann responded and quickly learned that one of the vehicles was reported stolen out of Madison, Indiana. Mann went to the door and heard “a lot of running around inside the residence before the two females answered the door, when he then caught a whiff of burning marijuana. Mann also says he saw a plastic bag of pills on a table that had not been there during the previous day’s search. Again, police obtained a search warrant for the home. They located inside a bag belonging to Bischoff more drug items including hypodermic needles, digital scales, and a glass pipe. Bischoff also led officers to a plastic container containing more than 30 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
