Vevay Man Killed In Single Vehicle Crash

The accident happened Wednesday afternoon on State Road 56.

(Vevay, Ind.) - One person is dead after a single vehicle accident in Switzerland County. 

Switzerland County Sheriff's deputies responded to the crash on State Road 56 near Vevay around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. 

Deputies say Alan Harris, 69, of Vevay was traveling on SR 56 when his truck left the roadway, struck a utility pole and rolled. Harris, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Switzerland County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Jeff-Craig Fire Department, Switzerland County Emergency Response and the Switzerland County Coroner.
