This special evening celebration will honor America’s 250th Anniversary.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Dearborn County Historical Society is proud to invite the community to “History Lives Here: An America’s 250th Open House” at the historic Vance-Tousey House on Friday, June 19 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
This special evening celebration will honor America’s 250th Anniversary while showcasing the rich history and preservation efforts taking place throughout Dearborn County. Guests will enjoy guided tours of the 209-year-old Vance-Tousey House, refreshments, light appetizers, and access to a special exhibit highlighting 250 Years of American and Dearborn County history.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to stroll through the beautifully maintained gardens surrounding the historic property while enjoying live piano music performed throughout the evening by Daniel Mathers.
A featured portion of the celebration will honor 20 Years of the Aurora–Lawrenceburg Bike Trail in partnership with Weber Sports. Guests can explore a special display celebrating the region’s cycling heritage, including the Weber Sports Antique Bicycle Collection from Aurora, Indiana.
The Dearborn County Historical Society is also excited to share that we are currently awaiting confirmation from a very special guest speaker and attendee who may join us for this important celebration. Additional announcements and event updates will be released as they become available.
“We are incredibly proud to open the doors of the Vance-Tousey House to the public during this important milestone in our nation’s history,” said representatives of the Dearborn County Historical Society. “This event is about more than preserving buildings — it is about preserving the stories, records, and memories that connect our communities together.”
The Dearborn County Historical Society remains a 100 percent volunteer-driven organization dedicated to preserving the history of all communities throughout Dearborn County. The organization continues to maintain historical archives, artifacts, and records vital to the county’s past, present, and future.
Admission to the event is free, and donations are appreciated.
