(Jennings County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O'Mara Contractors, Inc. continues intersection improvement work on State Road 7 in Jennings County.

On or after Monday, August 4, S.R. 7 will open to one lane of traffic and temporary traffic signals will be activated between County Road 275 West and just north of South County Road 300 West located approximately one mile northwest of U.S. 50. Temporary traffic signals will be placed at the following locations:

  • Just north of South County Road 300 West near Rolling Hills Shrine Club
  • Between South County Road 300 West and Country Squire Boulevard
  • At South County Road 300 West

Beginning on or after Monday, the north entrance to County Squire Lakes (Squire Lakes Drive) will close and the south entrance (Country Squire Boulevard) will reopen. Travel delays are expected while work is in progress and temporary signals are in place. Motorists can detour by following U.S. 50 to I-65 to S.R. 46.

Overall contract work is expected to be complete in late November, weather permitting. This project is part of $5.7 million awarded to Dave O'Mara in November 2022. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
