Indiana State Police have identified the subject arrested following a police pursuit on Thursday morning.

Deondrick D. Bailey, 22, of Illinois, was wanted on a warrant out of his home state for Aggravated Use of a Firearm. A traffic stop was conducted on State Road 129 just south of Batesville for speeding.

An Indiana State Police Trooper was attempting to get Bailey to exit the vehicle when he sped off at a high rate of speed.

Bailey drove approximately 13 miles on State Road 129 at speeds over 120 miles per hour before turning south on County Road 400 East. The pursuit continued until the roadway ended, and Bailey drove into a cornfield and then a wooded area before crashing into a fallen tree.

He then exited the car and fled on foot. Bailey was soon located hiding behind a residence and taken into custody without further incident.

Once arrested, Bailey was checked out by EMS and medically cleared before being transported to the Ripley County Jail. Bailey was then transported to Margaret Mary Hospital due to a complaint of pain. Local charges in reference to the pursuit will be filed once Bailey is cleared from the hospital.

Officers from the Ripley County Sheriff's Department, the Versailles Police Department, the Dillsboro Police Department, and the Milan Police Department assisted Troopers during the pursuit and arrest.
